TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024 TOURNAMENT FORMAT & RULES

Stage 1 – Qualifying Strokeplay Stage:

All players will play in an 18-hole individual strokeplay qualifier on a shotgun start at 10.30am.

At the end of the 18-hole qualifier the top 3 scores from each team will be combined to an overall strokeplay score where each team will then be ranked depending on their score.

For teams of 3 players, all scores will count towards the team’s combined overall strokeplay score.

In the event of any ties, the score of the 4th player will then be added and taken into account to determine the seeding. If still tied a “4 way alternate shot” playoff hole will be played between those teams.

In the event that it is a team of 4 vs a team of 3 that is tied, the best player’s score from each team will be compared for ties, if still tied then a “3 way alternate shot” will be played.

The top 8 teams will make it through to the Knockout Matchplay Stage. The bottom 2 teams will play off for 9th and 10th place in a Knockout Matchplay playoff.

A break for lunch will follow the Qualifying Stage.

 

Stage 2 – Knockout Matchplay Stage:

8 teams will qualify for the Knockout Matchplay Stage and will be seeded from 1-8 based on the previous qualifying round. Team Captains then must submit their teams based on the below format:

  • Single 1
  • Single 2
  • Better Ball Pair 1 (Teams of 3 will only have 1 player vs a Better Ball pair)

Once this has been submitted, the structure of the singles and pair cannot be changed for the remainder of the event.

Each tie carries the value of 1 point for a win, 0.5 for a draw and 0 for a loss. In the event the overall match is tied at 1.5-1.5, a “4 way alternate shot” playoff shall be played to determine ethe winner followed by penalty putts if required.

Placings will be played out for podium placings only (exception of 9th/10th place.)

  • QF1: 1 VS 8
  • QF2: 4 VS 5
  • QF3: 3 VS 6
  • QF4: 2 VS 7

 

  • SF1: QF1 VS QF2
  • SF2: QF3 VS QF4
